Roger Cherney is a longtime Southern Door resident, business owner, and dedicated supporter of the Little Sturgeon community. Alongside his wife Shirley, Roger owned and operated the longtime Stevenson Pier Sport & Gift Shop for nearly 40 years, serving generations of local residents, anglers, boaters, and visitors to Door County.

Over the years, Roger became well known throughout the area for his extensive knowledge of fishing, the waters of Green Bay, and the day-to-day realities of running a successful local business. His straightforward nature, work ethic, and deep roots in the community earned him the respect of both locals and visitors alike.

Roger has remained deeply connected to Southern Door through his support of local businesses, tourism, and community organizations. His decades of experience, commitment to the area, and appreciation for the traditions and character of Little Sturgeon continue to make him a valued member of the Southern Door community and an important part of its history.
