Jan married a Southern Door native, Kevin Guilette, over 30 years ago.  Since then, she has called this area home.  In addition to raising 5 children on their hobby farm, the two of them own multiple businesses in the Southern Door community.  Countrywide Construction & Design, located in Maplewood, has been serving the area since 1995 as a custom home builder.  In 2022, they started Red Barn Corn Maze in Forestville, a fall agri-tourism venue. These business ventures have given Jan strong marketing skills, and a business perspective from both the service and tourism industries.

 In addition to her current positions with the Door County Home Builders Association, Town of Forestville Zoning Commission, Friends of the Robert Baumann Memorial Park, church, and 4-H groups, in late 2025 Jan joined the Southern Door Business Association board.  She looks forward to helping all types of businesses and organizations in our community unite and flourish.
