A lifelong resident of Southern Door County, Karyn has deep roots in the community she proudly calls home. Growing up in Clay Banks and attending Southern Door Schools from kindergarten through graduation, she was an active member of the Lakeview 4-H Club and participated in a variety of community activities that helped shape her appreciation for service, leadership, and local traditions.

For nearly two decades, Karyn and her husband, Dale, have proudly operated two well-known Southern Door businesses: Sand Bay Beach Resort & Suites and Wacky Walleye Guide Service. Together, they have welcomed thousands of visitors to the area, promoted local tourism, and supported the growth of Door County’s outdoor recreation community. These experiences have given Karyn a unique perspective on the needs and opportunities of small businesses throughout the region.

Today, as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Southern Door Business Association, Karyn is dedicated to helping local businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs thrive. She is passionate about building meaningful connections, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring Southern Door has a strong voice within the greater Door County region.

Karyn looks forward to fostering collaboration, expanding opportunities, and celebrating the unique people and places that make Southern Door such an extraordinary community.
